In England, the Cotswolds are home to some of the most renowned, ancient, and pristine towns and villages. Nowhere else in the world do the honey-coloured stone buildings exude the classic English charm. It is indeed a singular experience! As the name implies, the Cotswolds are among England’s most picturesque regions and are well-known for being the birthplace of Shakespeare. Join us as we enjoy a steam train trip on the historic Gloucester Warwickshire Railway, see Regency Cheltenham, travel to Stratford-Upon-Avon, and tour the Cotswolds.

Clarion Hotel Charlecote Pheasant

This refined farmhouse hotel is a 3-minute walk from Charlecote Park and 4.9 miles from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
elegant rooms offer traditional furnishings, tea and coffeemaking equipment and TVs. Upgraded rooms offer 4-poster beds, timbered ceilings and/or flat-screens.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Meet your coach and travel to Dublin to join the early morning ferry crossing to Holyhead.

On arrival in Holyhead, rejoin your coach as you continue the journey to your hotel near Stratford-Upon-Avon, making a comfort stop en route before arriving late afternoon at your hotel for check-in and time to relax and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 2

Today, after breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), travel the short distance to spend the day in the market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, where you will have free time to discover the town. Why not visit Shakespeare’s birthplace, the bard’s house, and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage (admissions payable locally)? In the afternoon enjoy a 40minute Stratford-Upon-Avon Cruise during the cruise you will enjoy unparalleled views of the Theatre, Holy Trinity (Shakespeare’s burial place), experience local waterfowl, and travel through one of the oldest and most iconic locks in the country, which fuelled the industrial revolution. Later, rejoin your coach to return to your hotel to relax before dinner.

DAY 3 -

After breakfast (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager), travel to the Regency Spa town of Cheltenham for shopping and sightseeing. In the afternoon we’ll take a trip on a steam railway from the famous Cheltenham Racecourse, chugging past old bridges, quaint hamlets, and forests of ancient trees before spending time in the picturesque village of Broadway, the jewel of the Cotswolds. Late afternoon we depart Broadway (departure time will be confirmed by your tour manager) and make our way back to our hotel.

DAY 4 -

Today spend a scenic day touring the beautiful Cotswold villages; board your coach as we tour the beautiful villages of the Cotswolds. Cirencester often referred to as ‘the Capital of the Cotswolds’ this buzzing market town’s history dates all the way back to the Roman times. We continue through the honey-coloured villages with their striking wood churches and manor houses Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, and Chipping Camden, the stuff of fairy tales that never lose their charm before arriving back at our hotel late in the afternoon.

DAY 5 -

This morning, after a leisurely breakfast and check-out, join your coach and depart your hotel to make the journey back to Holyhead to join the afternoon ferry crossing to Dublin. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
